Some people like stories because of its lesson or moral message hidden behind every sentences, some others like them because of the story itself, the finished ending, the climax, and etcetera. When I was reading it, I was the other readers. Who loved the way the author narrating his story and building the main character.
Regardless Holden’s pointless anger and such, I really love the way of Salinger managed to make Holden’s and his young sister’s characters very bold. And, for the ending, since I’m not that kind of reader who always expect a certain ending, the ending of Catcher in the Rye is quite making me pause at the end. You know, it’s the unfinished feeling that got you stuck there for a long time.
Yes, one might really love this book, and other one might really hate it. And I am the first one. 😉
